PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary drive unit capable of being mounted on any existing automobile easily and enhancing its manipulating easiness, comfortableness and the fuel economy performance, and also an automobile fitted with such an auxiliary drive device. SOLUTION: The auxiliary drive unit is equipped with a first motor generator 2, a speed changing means 104 installed between the engine 101 and a first wheel driving shaft 105, a request braking force sensing means 21 to sense the braking force requested by the driver, an engine brake force calculating means 22 to calculated the engine brake force, and a regenerative braking force calculating means 23 to calculate the regenerative braking force owing to the regenerative power generation of the first motor generator 2, whereby the gear ratio or speed change point of the speed changing means 104 is controlled on the basis of the information given by the means 21, 22, and 23. |
