PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having high light emission efficiency and high reliability, and to provide an organic light emitting element using the compound. SOLUTION: The polymer compound having a structure in which a metal complex is bound directly to the main chain of the polymer, where the metal atom is bound at least with carbon atom or oxygen atom, and having phosphorescent emission, is used as an organic light emitting layer. The element formed using the compound exhibits high efficiency and excellent stability with time along with good film formability.
