PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing a solid threo-1,2-epoxy-3-(tert- butoxycarbonyl)amino-4-phenylbutane from being caked and degraded. SOLUTION: The undesirable phenomena such as caking, degradation or the like of the threo-1,2-epoxy-3-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino-4-phenylbutane are effectively suppressed by controlling the temperature for preservation and transportation so as to be <=10 deg.C when the solid of the compound is preserved and transported.
