PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method for reducing friction, which dose not increase a frictional force of a coating film even in a harsh environment such as in a very high vacuum or under ultraviolet irradiation, and hence realizes life extension of a material. SOLUTION: This coating method for reducing friction comprises forming the coating film consisting of a composite material on the surface of a member, to reduce the friction of the surface of the member, and is characterized by irradiating the coated film with a laser light, after forming the coating film on the surface of the member.
