PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate centering of a drill rod while suppressing the dislocation of a center position of the drill rod when clamped, caused by wear or the like of parts. SOLUTION: This rod clamping device is provided with a pair of teeth 24, 34 for clamping the drill rod of a drill; a large-diameter clamp cylinder 2 for taking precedence to move one tooth 24 and stopping it in a prescribed centering position; and a small-diameter clamp cylinder 3 for moving the other tooth 34 succeedingly to clamp the drill rod 5.
