PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super abrasive grain grinding wheel provided with a base metal composed of an aluminum alloy containing 40 wt.% or more aluminum, used for super high speed grinding of circumference speed 80 m/s or more, and preventing progress of corrosion of the base metal even if alkalescent grinding fluid is used in grinding. SOLUTION: Since corrosion resistant and wear resistant film 20 is formed on a surface of the base metal 12, the film 20 is not mechanically removed by solid and bubbles slightly contained in the grinding fluid even if the wheel is used for super high speed grinding, corrosion of the base metal 12 does not progress even if alkalescent grinding fluid is used in grinding. Consequently, safety of the super abrasive grain grinding wheel 10 is improved. Since corrosion of the base metal 12 does not progress by repeated use, the base metal 12 can be reused to reduce manufacturing cost of the super abrasive grain grinding wheel 10.
