The method entails the assembly of an exhaust gas manifold from a number of double-walled exhaust gas pipes coupled by interfitting their adjacent ends and welding the inner and outer pipes together via circular seams. An input flange is welded to the end of each double-walled exhaust gas pipe to be connected to the engine and an output flange is welded to the common output exhaust gas pipe.
