PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus in which gas stagnation in a chuting duct and an upper space in the inside thereof is suppressed. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus A is provided with a treatment tank 1 containing a treatment material 2 for garbage treatment, a chuting duct 4 for chuting garbage from the upper side of the treatment tank 1 and communicating the indoor side and the outdoor side, and a cover part 6 for covering the end part 4b of the chuting duct 4 in the outdoor side and the aperture part of the treatment tank 1 and the apparatus comprises an air discharge path for sucking air in the treatment apparatus A from approximately upper end part of the cover part 6 and discharging the air to the outside of the treatment apparatus.
