PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a game machine which clearly emphasizes and presents the change of a game state without using special high performance hardware, and to provide its game performance control method. SOLUTION: An output level (volume/light amount) which is set as a normal level value P1 is once set to zero for a prescribed time (Δt) in a timing (t1 ) immediately before a timing (T1 ) for transition from a normal game state to an emphasis presentment state and then, it is set at a special level value P2 . An output level which is set at the special level value P2 is once set to zero for the prescribed time (Δt) in a timing (t2 ) immediately before a timing (T2 ) for transition from the emphasis presentment state to the normal game state and, then, it is set at the normal level value P1 . Thus, when the state is changed between the normal game state and the emphasis presentment state, the output level of a speaker or a game board state display light is changed by a difference ofΔP which is larger than the level difference between the normal and special level values P1 and P2 .
