<p>The invention provides a device (18) for identifying a vehicle in at least one parking zone (12). The device (18) includes input means, communication means, storage means (22), processor means (28) and signal generation means. The input means is for feeding identification particulars of the vehicle in the parking zone (12) into the device (18). The communication means is for communicating reference identification particulars of vehicles from a remote station to the device (18). The processor means (28) includes comparator means for comparing the input identification particulars with the reference identification particulars stored in the storage means (22). The signal generation means generates a warning signal in response to the comparison. A system for identifying vehicles in a plurality of parking zones is also provided. The invention further provides a method of identifying a vehicle in a parking zone.</p> |
