摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform acceleration in the case of lane change to a higher traffic lane so as to properly and rapidly candy out follow-up travel control after the lane change by allowing variation of timing for follow-up travel control to the higher traffic lane in compliance with a lane changing speed of an objective vehicle in a follow-up control means. SOLUTION: In a straight traveling time on a traffic lane, a target acceleration/ deceleration computing means 18 computes a target acceleration/deceleration on the basis of signals from a target inter-vehicle distance setting means 23 and an inter- vehicle distance detecting means 24, and an engine output and a braking hydraulic pressure are controlled. When an objective vehicle is shifted from a traffic lane to a higher traffic lane, the target acceleration/deceleration computing means 18 computes and outputs an acceleration/deceleration in consideration of the signal from a preceding vehicle determination means 25. In addition, for performing acceleration quickly when the objective vehicle is shifted from a lower traffic lane to a higher traffic lane, the timing for follow-up travel control to the preceding vehicle on the higher traffic lane is variable in compliance with a lane changing speed of the objective vehicle. In this way, quick and appropriate follow-up travel control can be carried out.</p>
