PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain down raw stock having specific characteristics of a short fiber by entwining the short fiber to the barb of the down to afford homogeneous mixing of a synthetic or natural fiber. SOLUTION: The short fiber mixed down raw stock is obtained by entwining the short fiber 2 to the barb 4 (including barbule 6) of the down. The short fiber 2 entwines more tightly to the barb 4 and the barbule 6 when it is in heat set state and curling because knot 6a of the barbule 6 has a remarkable action to inhibit the short fibers 2 to separate. The short fiber 2 has 1-20 d of fineness (preferably, 2-5 d) and 1-50 mm (preferably, 5-10 mm) of length. |
