PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of improving the locking force with a terminal metal of a lance. SOLUTION: A main body 27 of a lance 26 has a cross section of an L-like shape which comprises a bottom surface 27A extending laterally and a side wall 27B extending vertically. A lock protrusion 28 protrudes from the main body 27, and a step protrusion 29 protrudes from the lock protrusion 28. The lock protrusion 28 and the step protrusion 29 are locked with a lock recess 17 having an L-like cross section which bridges between adjoining both sides, contacting almost at a right angle, while sandwiching one corner of a square tube 11 of a female-side terminal metal 10.
