PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time for reading corrected data by reading data again not from a forward position but by back scanning when the data can not be read by a prescribed magnification power in one scanning. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a recording head equipped with a plurality of recording elements for recording, driving means for performing recording by driving a plurality of recording elements on the basis of recording data corresponding to each of a plurality of recording elements of the recording head, reading means for reading information recorded on a medium to be recorded by driving the driving means, storage means for storing the read information, discriminating means for identifying a recording head print part from the image information stored in the storage means, arithmetic means for operating a density correction value for each recording element of the head from the data of a part, where the printing part is determined, of the head, and correcting means for correcting the print density characteristics for each recording element on the basis of the correction value operated by the arithmetic means, and the device has a back scan reading means for reading the data again by back scanning after the magnification power is corrected when a discriminating area for identifying the print part of the recording heat does not match the actual number of recording elements of the head. |
