PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the power consumption caused by the peak currents in the overlapping back scan operation of a fixing device, a DF and a reader part. SOLUTION: Timing to turn on the fixing device is monitored and after the fixing device is turned on, the back scan or DF operation is performed (1). Timing to perform the back scan or DF operation is monitored and after the back scan or DF is operated, the fixing device is turned on. Such operation is switched between a thin paper mode and a thick paper mode (2). |
