PURPOSE: An optical pickup device with a beam splitter in the shape of right-angle triangle and a method for correcting an optic axis by using the same are provided to correct the optic axis by right-angle triangular and flat plate type beam splitters and increase the allowable tolerance of thickness, thereby simplifying the manufacturing of the optical pickup device. CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup device with a beam splitter in the shape of right-angle triangle includes a light source(51) for generating first and second light with optic axes in parallel to each other, an objective lens(43) for focusing the first and second light to a recording medium, an optical detector(49) for carrying out the photoelectric transformation by receiving the first and second light reflected from the recording medium, and first and second beam splitters(35,37). The first beam splitter is provided to an optic path between the light sources and the objective lens and has a first surface(35a) for receiving the first and second light vertically, a second surface (35b) inclined by 45°for the first surface for reflecting the first light to the recording medium, and a third surface(35c) perpendicular to the first surface. The second beam splitter includes a first surface(37a) in parallel to the second surface of the first beam splitter for reflecting the second light refracted by the second surface of the first beam splitter to equalize the optic axis thereof to the first light. |
