The easel for painting has a movable vice to clamp the picture. The vice-picture assembly can be adjusted for height and pivoted a full circle in a vertical plane. The vice can move along an upright (1) with a threaded rod for adjustment and a locking thumb wheel. The threaded rod engages in enlargements (10) in a slot (2) in the upright.
