PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing/use tool in which resource is economized so that the concentration of access or concentration of traffic by users for a specific directory server or contents resource are evaded by a contents provider A and in the meantime, communication cost is economized by a contents user U so that desired contents can be effectively searched and collected in a short period of time. SOLUTION: In the tool, when the contents are copied and installed in a plurality of servers B to G, the contents stored by an upstream server is received, only the quantity of data of the contents that is proportionate to the resource is stored when there is not enough room in own server, only handing over the contents that are stored by own node in a downstream server, the quantity of contents is reduced whenever the number of servers is increased from the contents provider A and installing in plurality. When there are contents that could be stored exist, a contents providing tool is provided registering an address of the upstream server where the contents that could be stored and the contents that could not be stored are both stored is registered in own server as a data managing table.
