PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a projection tube in which a large electron gun is mounted and the consuming power is drastically reduced, while keeping high luminance, high definition required for the projection tube. SOLUTION: A funnel-and-neck sealing body 10 for a projection tube comprises a funnel 11 having an approximately rectangular large opening part 11a sealed with a panel for the projection tube and a circular small opening part 11b, and an approximately cylindrical neck tube 12 sealed with the small opening part 11b of the funnel 11. The neck tube 12 has an electron gun mounting region on the inside, where the electron gun is mounted, and a yoke mounting region on the outside, where a deflection yoke is mounted. The outer diameter in the yoke mounting region is smaller than that in the electron gun mounting region.
