PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube having a press mask which is improved in strength by reducing thermal deformation such as doming and increasing a curvature radius. SOLUTION: Numerous micro pores 63 are formed on the surface of a metallic base body 62 of a shadow mask 6 arranged in a color cathode-ray tube, and a surface film 64 is formed to fill in these micro pores 63 and cover the metallic base body 62.
