PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prediction filter that can keep excellent prediction accuracy without making the configuration complicated. SOLUTION: The prediction filter applying filter arithmetic operations to an input signal comprising a sampled signal resulting from sampling a received signal is provided with 24 pieces of delay elements 101 to 124 connected in multi-stages, each stage of which sequentially shifts the signal while delaying the signal by a delay time equivalent to a sampling interval. Then the filter is provided with coefficient devices 125, 126 that multiply a prescribed coefficient with outputs of the delay elements 112, 124 placed at the interval corresponding to a multiple of 12 of the sampling interval, and the outputs from the coefficient devices 125, 126 are given to a subtractor 127. As a result, the subtractor 127 outputs a prediction value <y1> obtained by 2y- 11-y- 23. In this case, since an interval at a multiple of 12 of the sampling interval is selected to be 52.63μsec and the reciprocal is made in matching with a pilot signal with 19 kHz in an FM broadcast signal, the prediction accuracy at an integer multiple of 19 kHz can be enhanced to obtain a proper prediction value when the signal includes noise with a comparatively wider pulse width.
