PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to simplify manufacturing and assembly procedures by forming both the address electrode and sustaining electrode at the rear substrate, while improving the discharge efficiency of each pixel. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(2); a plurality of address electrodes(4) formed into a stripe pattern on the first substrate; a dielectric layer(6) formed all over the first substrate in such a manner that the dielectric layer covers the address electrodes; a plurality of sustaining electrodes(8) formed into a stripe pattern vertical to the address electrodes, on the dielectric layer in such a manner that the sustaining electrode are spaced apart from each other; a barrier rib(12) which forms a square discharge space(S) by a plurality of first lines arranged in parallel to the address electrodes and a second lines covering the sustaining electrodes; R, G and B phosphor layers(10) corresponding to the discharge space; and a second substrate(14) opposed to the first substrate. The sustaining electrode forms planes opposed to the adjacent two sustaining electrodes, and an opposed discharge occurs between the two sustaining electrodes through the opposed planes. |
