The control method uses a piezoactuator for determining the fuel injection quantity, with an actuator model used for determining the differential of the force exerted on a fuel injection valve, via the supplied current and voltage, compared with a limit value, for correcting the signal parameters for the subsequent fuel injection. An Independent claim for a control device for a fuel injection valve for a diesel engine is also included.
