摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling motor loads are provided to prevent the damage and life reduction of the battery when the required motor load is higher than the battery charging state and the amount of power supply. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling motor loads, comprises a motor control unit(222) for controlling operation of a motor(236) in correspondence to the motor driving torque signal applied from an external source; a vehicle control unit(224) for outputting a fuel battery output request signal in correspondence to an accelerating/decelerating signal, a vehicle speed signal and a residual battery capacity signal, and outputting the motor driving torque signal to the motor control unit; a fuel battery control unit(226) for outputting a methanol reform request signal and a fuel battery output value setting signal in correspondence to the fuel battery output request signal output from the vehicle control unit; a reformer and methanol tank(228) for reforming a methanol in correspondence to the methanol reform request signal output from the fuel battery control unit; a fuel battery system(230) for generating power in correspondence to the reformed methanol fed from the reformer and methanol tank and the fuel battery output value setting signal output from the fuel battery control unit, and feeding the power to the motor control unit; a battery(232) charged with the power fed from the fuel battery system, and which outputs a residual battery capacity signal; and a residual battery capacity calculating unit(234) for receiving the residual battery capacity signal from the battery, calculating the residual battery capacity, and outputting the calculated residual battery capacity to the vehicle control unit.
