BRAKING SYSTEM FOR PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor braking system capable of keeping the braking distance constant no matter where the wheelchair-dedicated steps may be positioned when the passenger conveyor comes to a stop. SOLUTION: The braking system grasps the whereabouts of the wheelchair- dedicated steps 6 and sets the braking torque which is dependent upon the position of the steps 6, and is capable of keeping the braking distance constant for the stoppage of the conveyor no matter where the position of the steps 6 may be on the conveyor.
