PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer which enables a simple and correct selecting operation, by displaying on a list commodities which are likely to be selected and further narrowed down, in a treatment on inputting of commodity numbers. SOLUTION: The label printer has a commodity number input assistance function that it retrieves an commodity name area in a commodity file, selecting words used in a commodity as retrieval words, and displays on a list commodities including the retrieval words in their commodity names. The printer is also provided with a treated commodity file in which commodities priced in a predetermined period of time are stored, and executes a retrieval on the commodities stored in the treated commodity file and displays the retrieval result on a list.
