摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder which enables projection of signal light without carrying out mechanical light projection adjustment and can carry out highly accurate ranging in a ranging visual field. SOLUTION: The range finder is provided with a light projection means, a pair of light receiving lenses, light receiving elements such as a pair of line sensors or an area sensor which convert a pair of object images imaged by the light receiving lenses into an electric signal according to light intensity and output it, an integral control means to carry out integral control to the light receiving elements, a read means which converts the electric signal from the light receiving elements into object image data and reads them, and an arithmetic means which calculates ranging data based on the object image data outputted through the read means. The light projection means has a light emitting means to generate signal light, a light-emitting control means to control the light emitting of the light emitting means, and a scanning means which makes the reciprocation scanning of the signal light generated by the light emitting means in the direction vertical to the line of the light receiving elements. When the signal light is projected, the light emitting means continuously emits light to carry out light projection while periodically driving the scanning means.
