PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a conventional problem of increased transmission loss which is caused by grinding the outer side of the optical fiber inserting hole and making it one step lower than the abutting end face, for the purpose of decreasing the adverse effect on optical characteristics due to deposit of dust on a guide pin, and which is due to insufficient butt joint at the tip end faces of optical fibers as a result of the intended improvement. SOLUTION: On the outer periphery of the opening of a guide pin inserting hole on the abutting end face, a recess depressed in the axial direction of the inserting hole from the end face is formed. On the outer side of the recess, an outer abutting end face having the same height as the original abutting end face is formed. The recess can be circular, rectangular or grooved.
