PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold storage agent housing basket for a cooling container capable of simply housing a cold storage body in the cooling container without deteriorating heat exchange efficiency of the cold storage body. SOLUTION: The cold storage agent housing basket 3 for the cooling container can accommodate a large number of cold storage bodies 4 packed with the cold storage agent with spaces between them, and has a large number of air ventilation holes 34 formed in the peripheral face. When the bodies 4 are housed in the cooling container, firstly a plurality of the cooled cold storage bodies 4 are disposed with spaces in the basket 3. Then, the bodies 4 are conveyed together with the basket 3, and are housed in the container 1 for cooling with the basket 3. Thus, the work of housing the bodies 4 in the container is completed.
