PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traverse device for appropriately carrying out a traverse by preventing a traverse guide from being fallen down by inhibiting a moment load to a drive belt body. SOLUTION: A guide surface 9b for preventing a falling down at a strain line traveling direction side of the traverse guide 4 is provided along a direction of a reciprocating motion of the traverse guide 4. The traverse guide 40 comprises a mounting part 410; and a strain line guide part 430 which extends from the mounting part 410 to above downstream of a traveling direction of the strain line, in which a contact part 450 with the strain line Y is positioned at a distal end and which is connected through the mounting part 410 and a connection part 440. The contact part 450 with the strain line Y of the strain line guide part 430 is positioned above downstream of the strain line traveling direction as compared with the mounting part of the drive belt body 2 and the mounting part 410.
