PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt tension applicator capable of being embodied at a low cost and exerting a high stability when the applicator is in high speed operation. SOLUTION: A power transmission device 50 uses a drive motor 69 as a drive source and transmits the power to a transmission gear 49, etc., by a pinion 78 mounted on a drive shaft 69a and an endless belt 51 set around the pinion 78. A frame 61 is furnished with a guide hole 75 in which a bearing part 69b slides, and a tension is given to the endless belt 51 by a spring 71 installed between the drive motor 69 and frame 61. The drive motor 69 is fixed by a stationary screw 74 and a pin 72 under the condition that the tension of the belt 51 is balanced with the spring force of the spring 71 to maintain a properly tensioned condition.
