PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display whose brightness does not change according to a place, which does not cause a moire fringes or the like and on which a bright picture can be obtained independently of its utilizing environment. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display 1 is provided with a liquid crystal cell 4 formed by interposing a liquid crystal between a pair of substrates, a front light 5 having a light source 11 and a light guide plate 12 which are arranged on the top surface side of the cell 4 an a reflection plate 6 arranged on the undersurface of the cell 4. A plurality of projecting lines 15 extended in one similar direction are arranged on the plate 12 of the light 5 and a plurality of projecting lines 9 extended in one similar direction are arranged on the plate 6 so that the extended direction of the line 15 is unparalleled to that of the line 9.
