PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable emulsion composition that does not cause phenomena such as viscosity increment or creaming with the passage of time and also to provide a hair dye using the same having excellent dyeing uniformity. SOLUTION: This emulsion composition comprises one or more polyalcohols, one or more nonionic surfactants, two or more higher alcohols (at least one of them is a liquid at room temperature), and water. Also, the emulsion composition constitutes an acidic hair dye composition.
