PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the presence or absence of staples a even in a small space. SOLUTION: In an electric stapler, a passage 4 for inserting/removing a staple cartridge 3 in/from a magazine 2 of a stapler body 1 is formed. Sheet staples a are accommodated in the staple cartridge 3, wherein the staples are driven out by bending both ends in sequence from a staple a1 in the forward part of the sheet staple a. While arranging a stale detection sensor 7, formed in a manner such that both ends of the tip of an actuator 8 are gradually tapered so as to face the both sides which face the inlet/outlet of the passage 4 and are directly engaged with the upper surface or the lower surface of the sheet stales a of the staple cartridge 3 whose tip is mounted inside the passage 4, the actuator 8 is rotated in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the passage 4 to be tiltably mounted, and spring-biased so as to be obliquely elected always. |
