Durability of silicon elastomer molds is increased by using an additive which can stabilize the elastomer. Additive capable of stabilizing silicon elastomer is used to increase the durability of molds made of silicon elastomer cross-linkable by polyaddition or polycondensation. The additive is selected from: (1) antioxidant additives (a) with at least one group (A); (2) free radical inhibitors (b) capable, in molding conditions, of generating =N-O<.> (I) radicals; (3) the synergistic combination of (a) and (b); and (4) the synergistic combination of (a) and/or (b) with phosphites (c), except for the use of bis(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6,-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)sebacate as the only additive in a silicon elastomer mold crosslinked by polycondensation.
