PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive tape or a sheet excellent in balance in adhesiveness sufficiently fixing to the skin and cohesive properties for generating no residual paste in peeling off and suitable for medical and hygienic use, e.g. a first-aid bandage, a dressing material, a drape material and the like. SOLUTION: This medical adhesive composition is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture comprising an acrylic acid 4-12C alkyl ester, (meth)acrylic acid, methacrylic acid 1-4C alkyl ester (containing no multifunctional monomer having >=2 unsaturated double bonds in the molecule). The gel-sol ratio is 35:65-55:45. The weight-average molecular weight of the sol is 300,000-500,000. The medical adhesive composition obtained by copolymerizing the monomer mixture and having 35-55% gel fraction and 50-90 times degree of swelling is also disclosed. |
