摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve running stability of a motor bicycle or the like by disposing the center of gravity of an engine close to the center of the engine, to make the engine compact, and to improve a damping effect of a balancer means. SOLUTION: A primary drive gear 32 is formed on a second crank web 8g of a crankshaft 8 as counted from the side opposite to a generator attachment portion 31. A clutch means 36 is provided on a counter shaft 27 at a position corresponding to a first crank web 8h as counted from the side opposite to the generator attachment portion 31. A clutch operation mechanism 54 is provided at an end of the counter shaft 27 opposite to the clutch means 36, which end corresponds to a first crank web 8a of the crankshaft 8 as counted from the side of the generator attachment portion 31. A balancer drive gear 79 is provided on a second cylinder crank web 8c or 8d as counted from the side of the generator attachment portion 31. An axis of the balancer means 73 is located in a space opposite to the counter shaft 27 with the crankshaft 8 interposed therebetween, as viewed in the axial direction of the crankshaft 8.
