PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an attenuator having a large stroke by using rolling of a rotating body in a narrow space without mounting a separate damper. SOLUTION: While an attenuation layer 33 having attenuation performance is formed on the inner peripheral wall of an outer cylinder 58, attenuation layer 35 having the attenuation performance is formed on the outer periphery wall of inner cylinder 60. A sphere 62 is sandwiched between the attenuation layers 33 and 35 so as to compressively deform the attenuation layers 33 and 35. When reciprocatively moving the inner cylinder 60 in the axial direction, the sphere 62 rolls. By combining shear deformation generated in the attenuation layers 33 and 35 at rolling of the sphere 62 and the friction resistance between the attenuation layers 33 and 35, and the sphere 62, the attenuation action is demonstrated. The attenuation effect is obtained by rotating the inner cylinder 60 with respect to the outer cylinder 58.
