PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method with which a (meth)acrylate having high crystallinity and strong hydrophobicity, and having a biphenyl skeleton can be manufactured in high purity. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a (meth)acrylate having a biphenyl skeleton is carried out as follows: an alcohol having a biphenyl skeleton and a carboxylic acid having a (meth)acryloyl group are subjected to an esterification reaction; subsequently, the reaction mixture is held at 50-100 deg.C; and water is added to the reaction mixture to wash the reaction product.
