INTERNET PRINTING METHOD, ITS SYSTEM, PROXY DEVICE, AND PRINT SERVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize printing to a print server that cannot pass through a fire wall even by using a printing protocol (IPP) in an Internet printing system allowing a client to print data to the print server through the Internet. SOLUTION: A proxy device (12) capable of communicating with the print server (31) that cannot pass through the fire wall even by using the IPP is installed in the Internet (10) and the server site of the print server (31) is opened on the proxy device (12), so that an IPP client (2-1) transmits/receives a printing service request and a response by assuming the print server (31) as an IPP server opened in the Internet (10). Since the proxy device (12) converts the gateway of the IPP to another protocol, the client (2-1) can pass through the fire wall (30) and prints data to the print server (31).
