PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable motor driver, a motor and an electric apparatus mounting the motor in which a switching element, i.e., a semiconductor element, is not damaged even if a voltage exceeding the withstand voltage thereof is applied. SOLUTION: The motor driver comprises a DC power supply 2, a motor 1 having windings of a plurality of phases, an inverter section 3 connected between the positive side output and the negative side output of the DC power supply 2 and comprising a switch element group having a plurality of circuits, each comprising two switch elements of individual semiconductor materials connected in series like a totem pole while having a specified withstand voltage, equal in number to that of the phases of the motor, a switch control means 5, and an overvoltage protective means 4 for bringing the plurality of switch elements entirely into nonconductive state through the switch control means 5 when the voltage between the positive side output and the negative side output of the DC power supply 2 exceeds a predetermined level. |
