An instrument kit for continuous monitoring of physical characteristics of soils, comprises measuring probes placed in the soil, an information transfer facility conveying measured data to a storing and evaluation unit. A number at least of measuring units have an inner core enclosing housing. The inner core holds a transducer linked to a sensing unit. At least some of the sensors are located on the housing's external surface and/or in its vicinity. It is characteristic of this arrangement, that sensing unit (40) associated with at least some of the measuring units (20) is linked to a partial primary sensor (41) located near the soil (10) surface (11) and to a partial tertiary sensor (43) found in the subsoil (13). Further it is also linked to a partial tertiary sensor (42) located in between the surface (11) of the soil (10) and the subsoil (13). All three partial sensing units (40,41,43) are communicating with the seame conversion (90) unit. |
