PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can sharply photograph an object without camera-shake, by setting a proper camera-shake limit shutter speed to each image size. SOLUTION: The camera-shake preventing method of this invention includes a step S2 of starting communication with an image pickup lens 14, when a switch SW 1 is closed (step S1), a step S3 of confirming image size information, a step S7 of conducting a focus detecting arithmetic operation when the confirmation of image size information indicates a large image size, a step S8 of setting the camera-shake limited shutter speed, when the image size is large on the basis of the image size information, and a step S9 of deciding focusing, on the basis of the decided camera-shake limit shutter speed. For example, let the camera-shake limit shutter speed for image size be 1/60, then the camera- shake limited shutter speed is 1/90 for image size B, and 1/125 for image size C.
