PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently form an image by allowing a host device connected with the plurality of image forming apparatus via a network to select a usable image forming apparatus among a plurality of image forming apparatuses at random. SOLUTION: A controller part 8 of the host device connected via the network transmits a signal for inquiring of the individual image forming apparatuses as to whether the image forming apparatuses are usable. The controller part of the image forming apparatus receives the signal and inquires of a system control part as to whether the image forming apparatus is usable. In this case, when the image forming apparatus is usable, a signal indicating that it is usable is transmitted from the system control part to the controller part and the signal is transmitted to the host device. The controller part 8 of the host device receives the signals from the respective image forming apparatuses, selects the image forming apparatus among the usable apparatuses at random by using the system control part 9, issues an instruction to the apparatus to perform an image forming operation and displays the fact on a display part 10. |
