PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device that can check even a distribution site which does not use dedicated distribution software while preventing the capacity of an arithmetic part or storage part, etc., of the device for making the check from becoming deficient. SOLUTION: Each violation server is equipped with an area decision means 32 which decides whether a distribution server is detected in the area of the server, a transfer means 33 which transfers a request to detect copyright violation to other violation detection servers when the distribution server to be detected is not in the area, a timer means 34 which measures the reciprocation time of an echo signal to and from the object distribution server to be detected, a copyright information storage means 35 which stores copyright information embedded in digital contents, and a copyright violation detecting means 37 which reads the digital contents out of the distribution server, reproduces an electronic watermark according to key information, and decides whether use- condition information is satisfied according to the contents of the electronic watermark. |
