PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk apparatus that can prevent an optical pickup from strongly colliding with a chassis or the like even when a large shock is exerted to the optical disk apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical disk apparatus is configured such that a nut plate 2 engaging with a feed screw shaft 3 to feed a base 1a of an optical pickup 1 is fitted to the base 1a and a blocking wall 1c provided to the base 1a prevents a nut 2a of the nut plate 2 from tooth-jumping to a feed screw face 3a of the feed screw shaft 3. Thus, even when the optical disk apparatus is dropped down resulting in exerting a large shock to the optical disk apparatus, movement of the optical pickup 1 can be avoided so as to prevent the optical pickup 1 from strongly colliding with the chassis 108 thereby avoiding the components of the optical pickup 1 from being damaged.
