A sun shade, comprising of a length adjustable filamentary sheet material (preferably of a mesh form), support rods and a distinct attachment means that is attachable to a motor vehicle door frame as opposed to the glass window of the door such that the sheet material substantially covers the window of the door whether the door is open or closed and wherein the sheet material is substantially on only one side of the door.
