<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To test the AAL5 terminating function and the UNI terminating function connected to an ATM passive optical network(ATM-PON). SOLUTION: The TOM-PON test system sets up a signal line switching means so as to form a signal line between an output of a memory 23 and a second AAL5 termination 22 at the test of the condition of an optical network terminator ONT2, using an optical transmission line terminator OLT1; transmits a test packets to the terminator ONT2 from the terminator OLT1; compares and decides a test packet returned from the terminator ONT2 to the terminator OLT1 with the transmitted test packet, using a packet comparator 16 to decide whether the test packet returns from the terminator OLT1 within a specified time; and judges the normality of the optical network terminator ONT2, based on these decision results.</p> |
