FIELD: water purification by electrochemical processes, possibly preparation of purified water. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes electrolyzer with anode and cathode, branch pipes for supplying and discharging water, DC source and unit for electromagnetic treatment connected with electric current source of electrolyzer. Unit for electromagnetic treatment is mounted on branch pipe for supplying water and it is connected in series with electric current supply circuit of electrolyzer for changing intensity of electromagnetic field synchronously with change of water hardness. EFFECT: provision of optimal intensity of electromagnetic field depending upon hardness of water, lowered energy consumption. 2 cl, 1 dwg
