PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate erroneous mounting of parts on a part mounting box on a self-traveling carrier or defective parts by making the flow of the carrier smooth. SOLUTION: The self-traveling carrier 1 mounting the part mounting box 3 mounted with parts to be assembled to a product and carrying the box 3 stops at a supply station B. The part mounting box 3 is supplied to an assembling line 4 by a supplying device 6. The parts are assembled to the product on the assembling line 4 and the empty part mounting box 3 is recovered to the carrier 1 from the assembling line 4 by a recovering device 7 at a recovering station C. After the recovery, the part mounting box 3 is taken over by a take- over device 60 from the carrier 1 in a mounting area A. Successively carrying the part mounting box 3 taken over from the take-over device 60 by a mounting line 61, a worker mounts parts within part storing shelves 63 and 64 into the part mounting box 3, the part mounting box 3 mounted with parts from the mounting line 61 is taken over by a delivery device 62, and the part mounting box 3 is delivered to the carrier 1.
